Samsung offers a trade-in program that runs all year long. It allows users to exchange their old smartphones to purchase a new device. Now, the South Korean tech giant has quietly introduced a new trade-in program. We can say that it is an improved version of the regular trade-in program.
Samsung has just introduced a new trade-in program
Samsung’s latest trade-in program allows you to get the value of your old smartphone without even having to purchase a new phone. The PR states that first, Samsung grades the old smartphones into categories: Excellent, good, or recycled. Based on the grade of their device, the consumer then gets an appropriate amount. To find more information, you will have to visit Samsung’s trade-in program pages of your respective region.
“We’re excited to launch our brand-new year-round Galaxy Trade-In Program in an effort to enrich the value of Galaxy devices for users and contribute to a circular economy,” said Jun Kim, EVP and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “We believe customers can greatly benefit from the value of their devices in the market and the ability to trade-in safely with the support of secure transactions.”
The new program is currently only live in select regions
It’s worth mentioning that the company’s new trade-in program isn’t just live in all regions yet. As of now, the tech giant is running a pilot of the program in select countries including South Korea and France. LikeWize, a US-based company offering insurance, repairs, and other services for consumer tech products, is running this program
As of now, the Samsung Galaxy S23, S22, S21, and S20 series smartphones are eligible for this program. You can also trade in the Z Fold5, Fold4, Fold3, Flip5, Flip4, and Flip3 in this program. However, the devices could differ from region to region. The company will start offering the new trade-in program in other countries through 2025.
